Saving Money is much better than Paying Debt
I never cease to be amazed at watching single people that earn $1000 take home in NET
weekly paychecks, or more, who are still depressed on payday.
Quite frankly, they do not know the tremendous opportunity to save money and change
their future is in their hands.
Payday is supposed to be a good day. Not so much because of the money. But rather
because of what you can do with the money for yourself and your family or future family.
Many young people think more about
buying cars, clothes, jewelry and all
that junk.
Rather than planning to save for the
purchase of a nice home that will be
their own after it is paid in full.
Young people may not need health
insurance right away, but how about
setting aside a few dollars, maybe 10
percent of earnings, in a money
market account. So when you do get
older, your health plan will already be
funded and waiting for you.
Us older folks know that emergencies
are inevitable.
I want you to get this. This is not only about saving money. This is about the bigger picture
called LIFE.
Money is certainly not everything, but in our society, money is what is needed to pay the
bills. I personally do not see money as a way to live an opulent life. Money is equal to
security in our society.
As the Bible says in Proverbs 22:7, “…the borrower is slave to the lender.” (NAB).
If the creditor is the lender, I suppose that would make you… the slave? Your creator did
not put you on this earth to be a slave. Even if you are not into any religious faith, you
cannot deny the truth in these words.
Many people ask the question, “What would you do if you had a MILLION DOLLARS?!”
Well, ask yourself a question based more on current reality, “What would you do differently
if on payday, you had no credit card debt to pay and more left over to start saving money?”
If you do what is necessary and whatever it takes to get out of debt, you will be answering
this question very soon.
It will take commitment, focus and sacrifice. And may even hurt and cause a little bit of pain.
But the truth of the matter is simply this. In the end, you will break the shackles of debt and
no longer be a slave to the lender, and be DEBT FREE to design and enjoy the rest of your
life.
This is the beginning of the rest of your life! Make it count!
God bless.
How about saving money to send your child or future child to a quality private school.
Or even saving money so you can further your education to increase your worth in the job
market.
How about the simple fact of being able to buy the proper foods and get the proper nutrition
instead of choosing your nutrition from the dollar menu of any fast food restaurant.
