Create Relationships with your local banker or lender
Do you know the name of the Loan officer at your local bank? Have you ever met the
manager of your bank?

Why is this important?

Simply because your local bank is eager to be part of the community. In turn, local banks are
eager and willing to help the people in their community.

Creating a relationship with the local bank that you do business with is important to develop
and continue to develop for when the need for a loan arises.

You might find that financing through a local bank or lender will grant you better auto loan
rates with your good credit.
Getting a mortgage may not only
get you a better rate, but by
establishing a good personal
relationship, it may also get you
good advice on the type of loan that
will best fit what you need.

You could also get word of some
good strategies that only a few
‘insiders’ know.

For example, many banks send out
informational flyers with member’s
bank statements. Most people just
toss them away without reading
them. You may be one of these
people.
However, by creating relationships, the next time you walk into the bank, you might be
surprised when they ask if you are taking advantage of the good rates that their new
Money Market Fund is offering.

It is just like the saying goes, ‘people like to do business with people that they know.’ Get to
know the bank and let them get to know you.

If you have created a relationship with key personnel, you just might find that getting your
loan approved will be a smooth transition.

The bank may even take some extra steps to help you along, if by some chance, you are not
approved.

For example, they may offer advice or guidance or even offer you a starter loan to establish
the kind of credit necessary for that big purchase you are looking for.

You can’t get this kind of extraordinary brand of personal service with an online financial
institution.

Avoid the drive through window, you can’t establish too much of a relationship with a
canister.

So the next time you head on over to make a deposit or cash a check or any other type of
banking business, get out of the car and walk inside and meet the people that handle your
money.

Your efforts to walk inside and meet the bank personnel, or just to say ‘hello’, could go
along way when the time comes that you have a need or questions about anything financial.
